General Questions

1. I am a student, can I be involved with gotmedbooks.com?
Please email us (from contact us page) with how you would like to help. If you have a new idea we should know about – tell us. We also occasionally have positions open for new reviewers.

2. I was trying to do something and I got an error – what do I do?
For a large website, it sometime happens that we missed something. If you get an error or something you think should have worked differently than you thought, then please tell us. Let us know where you were in the website and what you exactly did so that we may recreate that problem and then fix it.


Shopping Questions

1. Is it safe to use my credit card online?
Yes. We take credit card security very seriously. We use encrypted data to transmit your credit card information. You can tell this by looking at the address bar at the top of your browser. In a secure server, the address will change to read https instead of just http. This should happen when you are on the page where you enter your credit card information. Also there is a digital certificate (which you can click) that tells you that you are actually in our website and that the secure server is working. Further, once the credit card information is transmitted, we do not store it. Some retailers do save this info, but that creates the potential for theft later. We choose to not save this information on our servers and as a result every time you make a purchase, you will have to reenter your credit card information, but that is a small price for the added security.

2. Is tax charged on my order?
Tax is only charged to if your shipping (not billing) address is in California. For California orders, the state charges a tax of 8.25%. There is no tax charged for all other states.

3. Am I able to return purchases?
Yes. We believe you should always be able to return purchases. Please see our return policy. For defective merchandise, you may send it back within 30 days from purchase. You may also return a product as long as it is in new condition within 30 days. All return orders have to be approved. Please email us from contact us page about a return and we will send you the return information. Please include your account information (name, contact info), order #, and the items you need to return.

4. What is the status of my order?
You can monitor all your orders from your account. Visit "My Account" and click on Previous orders on the left hand side of your screen. From this area, you can monitor all your current orders and can also see your previous orders.


Account Questions

1. Do I need to register?
Registration is free and it allows you access to all the features on our website. You can still access book reviews without registering, but you cannot post on message boards and make purchases without registering. It only takes a moment to register, please click “New User – sign up here” from the main page and follow the instructions.

2. How do I update my account info, email, etc. ?
After you login, go to “My Account” at the top of every page. There on the left hand side, click on “Manage Profile. ” Once there, you will see your account information, which you can change by clicking edit.

3. How do I change my password?
After you login, go to “My Account” at the top of every page. There on the left hand side, click on “change password. ” This allows you to set a new password.

4. How do I see my pervious orders?
You can access this from “My Account” page. Once there, please click on “Previous Orders. ” Here you can monitor all your current and previous orders.

5. I forgot my password, what do I do?
Click on “forgot password” from the home page (under the login box). Enter your username and email and your password will be emailed to you.
